Alice Miller (January 12, 1923 – April 14, 2010), a doctor of philosophy, psychology, and sociology, as well as a researcher on childhood, is the author of 13 books, translated into thirty languages. Of the 192 members of the United Nations, only 19 have so far banned corporal punishment of children.
